Privacy policy
Draft pending legal review. This policy describes how the Realest website and app currently handle personal data. It has not yet been approved by a solicitor and should not be relied on as final.
Who we are
Realest (“we”, “us”) provides a mobile and web application for property professionals. We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@realest.pro.
What we collect
When you use this website
- Enquiry details. If you request early access, contact support, or make a partner enquiry, we collect the name, email address and other details you type into the form, along with the page you submitted from and how you reached the site (for example a search engine or an advertisement).
- Usage measurement. We use Plausible Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track people across websites or build profiles. It records page views, referrer and country in aggregate. No personal data is collected and no cookie is set.
When you use the app
- Account details: your name, email address, phone number where given, and your organisation.
- Property records: appointments, notes, feedback, photographs, documents, timestamps and mileage that you or your colleagues enter.
- Details of the people you share with: where you invite a seller, occupant, buyer or contractor to an appointment, we process the contact details you provide so we can show them that appointment.
- Technical data: device type, app version and error reports, used to keep the app working.
Why we process it, and our lawful basis
- To provide the service: performance of our contract with you.
- To respond to enquiries and set up new accounts: our legitimate interest in answering people who contact us.
- To keep the service secure and working: our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and fixing faults.
- To measure how the website performs: our legitimate interest in understanding aggregate demand.
- To meet legal obligations: where the law requires us to keep or disclose records.
Where you enter personal data about other people into Realest, you are the controller of that data and we process it on your behalf under our terms.
Who we share it with
We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's advertising. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our instructions:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, form handling and protection against abuse.
- Notion: where website enquiries are stored so we can follow them up.
- Resend: sends the notification email that tells us an enquiry has arrived.
- Google Workspace: our email, where enquiries and replies are read and written.
- Plausible Analytics: aggregate, cookieless website measurement, hosted in the EU.
Where your data is held
Property records and account data are held on servers in the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Some of the providers listed above are based in the United States; where data reaches them it is transferred under the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Website enquiries: up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
- Account and property data: for as long as your account is open, and for 30 days after you close it, after which it is deleted.
- Records we must keep by law (for example billing records): for as long as the law requires, usually six years.
Cookies
This website sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Our analytics are cookieless, so there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from abuse.
Your rights
Under the UK GDPR you have the right to ask us for a copy of your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email hello@realest.pro. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page, and tell account holders by email where the change is significant.
